Ava and Amber Snell, the “Archery Twins of Gloucestershire,” are 14-year-old identical twins from the Forest of Dean. Archers since 2019, they began in barebow, setting around 12 national records and multiple county records while representing the Gloucestershire Archery Society. Since 2022, they have trained under Patrick Huston, a two-time Olympian and three-time world gold medallist, transitioning successfully to recurve and competing at the highest levels.
Despite challenges, including Amber’s Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis in 2022, both have excelled nationally and internationally. Highlights include Ava’s back-to-back Under 14 Junior National Indoor titles for 2023 and 2024, Amber’s national record in field archery, representation at the World Indoor Series in Nîmes and Luxembourg, and recognition as 2025 Global Child Prodigies. In 2025, Ava and Amber joined Archery GB’s National Pathway Programme, ranking No.1 and No.5 nationally, and continue to pursue their Olympic dreams with determination and skill.
