Diversity, equity, and inclusion at Blackchair

Our DEI statement

At Blackchair, we are dedicated to creating an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered. We actively promote diversity across all levels of our organization.

Currently, 25% of our leadership team’s positions are held by women, and we are actively working to foster diverse talent through unbiased recruitment practices.

Our commitments

  • Inclusive recruitment
We aim to create a workforce that reflects a variety of backgrounds. By ensuring our
hiring panels include diverse perspectives, we foster an inclusive environment where
everyone has an equal opportunity to thrive.
  • Ongoing education
We provide regular unconscious bias training for all employees to promote cultural
competence and combat unconscious bias. We also offer resources that enhance
understanding and appreciation of different cultures.
  • Pay equity
We regularly review compensation to ensure fairness across the organization. By
prioritizing pay equity, we demonstrate our commitment to valuing every employee’s
contributions, regardless of their background or identity.

Our progress
While we’ve made significant strides, we acknowledge that there’s more work to be done. We appreciate your support as we continue to learn, grow, and create an inclusive workplace environment at Blackchair.

Leadership commitment

A message from Jason Owen, our CEO

“At Blackchair, our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion isn’t just a policy—it’s a core part of who we are and how we operate. As CEO, I personally pledge to champion these values throughout our organization.

We believe that our strength lies in our differences. By fostering an environment where every voice is heard and every individual can bring their authentic self to work, we not only create a better workplace but also drive innovation and deliver superior results for our clients.

Our journey towards a truly inclusive culture is ongoing. While we’ve made progress, we recognize there’s always room for growth. I invite every member of our team to join me in this crucial effort as we continue to build a diverse, equitable, and inclusive Blackchair.”

Looking ahead

Future commitments to DEI

As part of our ongoing commitment to build a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace, we are planning to implement several other DEI initiatives.

  • Employee resource groups
We plan to establish ERGs for women in tech, LGBTQIA+ employees, and employees from different cultural backgrounds and disabilities. These groups will support underrepresented employees and foster a sense of community.
  • Employee feedback collection
We plan to establish more streamlined processes to collect employee feedback regarding our DEI initiatives. The aim of this initiative is to create a safe space where employees can present constructive feedback.
  • Mentorship programs
We plan to establish mentorship programs with a specific focus on supporting diverse talent within the company. These programs are meant to encourage employees from all walks of life and backgrounds to thrive.
